Chicago is a tale of murder, sex, greed, betrayal and war. Set in the Chicago slums of the 1920s, the story follows Velma Kelly, a vaudevillian who murders her husband and her sister when she finds them in bed together, and Roxie Hart, a housewife and working girl who plans to kill her lover after he threatens to leave her. The individual stories of these two women quickly make newspaper headlines.

Chicago’s original song, All That Jazz, had been sung more than 250,000 times in five different languages.
