The long wait was over for VK Fans, J-Rock and cosplay lovers in Thailand as they got to enjoy this year’s biggest rock festival and the first J-Rock concert in Southeast Asia. The “Oishi Green Tea Presents Oishi J-Rock Hitz Fest 2010”, organised by Oishi Green Tea and BEC-Tero, featured three leading visual rock bands from Japan: SuG and ViviD with a special performance from LM.C who rocked the stage in Thailand for the first time.
Japanese rock music was definitely back in Thailand at this festival which drew a huge crowd from all across the country who flocked to Central World garden (office side of the Central World Plaza) on Saturday, December 4th. The festival opened with several activities before the crowd roared with excitement after the MC introduced special guests LM.C members Maya and Aiji. After the introduction, the fans screamed their lungs out when the duo played “Jang Ken Pong” or Rock-paper-scissors game to find six lucky girls to meet and greet with them on stage and receive autographed posters.
There were endless cheers from crowd for Vivid, a new visual rock band with five hot members – Shin, Reno, Ryoka, Iv and Koki – who performed outside of their homteown for the first time. They opened their show with their hit “69-II” followed by “Across The Border,” “Kimi Koi,” “Precious,” and “Survive.” The young rockers kept their audience jumping on their feet for the duration of their set.
The concert concluded with a fab performance by SuG – the five-member Japanese rock band comprising Takeru, Masato, Yuji, Chiyu and Shinpei. They wowed the audience with unique poses and impressed with songs including “Sparkling,” “R.P.G,” “Bushido,” “Gr8 Story,” and “Love Scream Party”. The festival came to an official close after the cries for an encore from the audience were fulfilled with “Dot 0” and “39 GalaxyZ.”
