Channel 3 and BEC-Tero Entertainment recently held a press conference to announce the readiness of Sirirrat “Nusi” Rueangsri who will represent Thailand at the Miss World 2010 beauty pageant in China and Mongolia from 1 – 30 October. October.
She will take with her more than 30 dresses to show to the rest of the world. The highlights include a long evening dress designed and tailored by Miss Pattarawat Wongdisporncheewin, owner of De Butante. A deep blue dress decorated with crystal sequins inspired by the concept of “Sky from Thailand.” The blue represents the strength and endurance of Thais when faced with hardship while the sequins represent stars in the sky that guide us through the night.
The national costume is created by Mr. Wanchai Temthanasap, the owner of 1Shine. He uses gold to reflect Thailand’s fertility and combines Thai silk weaving skills with a traditional pattern called Theppanom.
The bikini that’s to be worn by Miss Thailand World at the Bikini Beach Beauty round is sponsored by Phuket Mermaids. Jim Thompson Silk Company is providing material with prints that narrate the story of the old Thai way of life that will be auctioned off. Proceeds will go towards a fund to help underprivileged children.
Sirirat will bring a bookmark with a print of an Asian elephant to give to other contestants as a souvenir from Thailand. She will also give a contemporary dance performance which is a mixture of western ballet and Thai traditional moves called Manorah, thanks to professional training by Miss Jantima Yaiying, a dancing art expert from the Culture Ministry and National Artist Dr. Supphachai Jansuwan. Covermark is sponsoring all cosmetics and make-up tools used by Miss Thailand World.
Sirirat will leave for China on Thai International Airways flight no. TG614 Bangkok – Beijing at 10.10 am on Friday 1 October.
The final round of Miss World 2010 will take place on October 30, 2010 in Sanya, China and will be broadcast live to Thai fans on Chanel 3 from 11 pm – 1 am.
