A Korean stage show set in a kitchen has become a worldwide comedy smash – and now it’s coming to Bangkok.
Following in the footsteps of Korean hits Break Out and Jump, Nanta has been playing to audiences for more than 11 years in its home country.
Now, Singha Corporation, Snack Jack, Isuzu and BEC Tero Entertainment bring the show to Thailand and will perform July 22-26 at the Royal Paragon Hall Siam Paragon.
Nanta is the first show from Asia to reach Broadway in New York. It is an original non-verbal performance of free rhythmical movements that tells the comical story about three cooks preparing for a wedding banquet. With a talented cast and experienced crew, Nanta is certain to captivate Thai audiences in the same way that it has captivated audiences around the world.
Nanta made history in South Korea by recording higher ticket sales than some Broadway shows. Nanta made its international debut in 1999 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it won the award for best performance. The show then went on to perform in England, Germany, Austria, Italy, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, the Netherlands and Australia. In 2000 the Nanta Theatre was born and became a popular tourist attraction; three years later it made its debut on Broadway at the New Victoria Theatre.
