     ปี 2018 จะเป็นปีที่เฉลิมฉลองการประกวดมิสเวิลด์ ไฟนอล (Miss World Final) ครั้งที่ 68 ซึ่งจะมีขึ้นที่ประเทศจีนในเดือนธันวาคม  สำหรับโครงการ Beauty with a Purpose หรือ งามอย่างมีคุณค่า ผู้เข้าแข่งขันแต่ละคนจะต้องเลือกโครงการหนึ่งโครงการด้วยตนเองและนำเสนอกับคณะกรรมการของเรา 

     ระหว่างการประกวดมิสเวิลด์ 2017 เราได้เห็นโครงการสุดวิเศษมากมายไม่ว่าจะเป็นโครงการของประเทศแอฟริกาใต้ในการสนับสนุนแคมเปญสร้างความตระหนักเรื่องสุขภาวะทางจิต เวียดนามมีการจัดการผลิตไฟฟ้าจากแผงโซลาร์ให้กับหมู่บ้านบนภูเขาที่ห่างไกล และอินเดียในการทำโครงการให้การศึกษาเรื่องสุขลักษณะในช่วงมีประจำเดือน

     หลังชนะการประกวดมิสเวิลด์ 2017 มานูชิ ชิลลาร์ (Manushi Chhillar) พร้อมด้วยความช่วยเหลือจากผู้ชนะจากทั้งห้าทวีปได้เดินหน้าดำเนินโครงการ Beauty with a Purposeของเธอต่อไป พวกเราทุกคนเดินทางไปทั่วประเทศอินเดียในเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ 2018 เพื่อให้การสนับสนุนมานูชิในโครงการให้การศึกษาและได้รับการสนับสนุนจากทั้งบริษัทต่าง ๆ และรัฐบาล สามารถเข้าไปดูข้อมูลเพิ่มเติม เกี่ยวกับโครงการ Beauty with a Purpose ที่เกิดขึ้นทั่วโลก ได้ที่ www.missworld.com

     การดำรงตำแหน่งมิสเวิลด์เป็นหนึ่งในงานที่ต้องเสียสละมากที่สุด แต่ก็เป็นหนึ่งในงานที่คุ้มค่าที่สุดเช่นกัน ในการเดินทางไปทุกทวีปทั่วโลก หน้าที่ของมิสเวิลด์ในฐานะทูตของโครงการ Beauty with a Purpose คือการหาเงินทุนและมุ่งความสนใจไปที่ประเด็นและปัญหาที่ส่งผลกระทบต่อผู้หญิงและเด็ก ผู้ชนะจำเป็นต้องมีความสามารถในการถ่ายทอดสิ่งที่เห็นออกมาเป็นคำพูดที่สามารถสร้างแรงบันดาลใจให้แก่ผู้อื่นได้ อีกทั้งยังต้องมีความแข็งแกร่งเพราะโครงการนี้เป็นโครงการที่ต้องใช้ทั้งความอุทิศตนและความอุตสาหะ ผู้ชนะยังต้องมีอารมณ์ขันในเวลาที่ยากลำบากที่สุดในการพยายามนำความหวังไปสู่ผู้ที่ขาดแคลน

     ในค่ำคืนวันที่ 15 กันยายนนี้ มีผู้สวมมงกุฎมิสไทยแลนด์เวิลด์เพียงคนเดียวเท่านั้น แต่สำหรับผู้เข้าแข่งทุกคน พวกคุณคือผู้ชนะ พวกคุณประสบความสำเร็จอย่างมากในการมาได้ไกลถึงจุดนี้ ฉันขอขอบคุณพวกคุณทุกคนสำหรับการร่วมเดินทางครั้งนี้กับพวกเราและขอบคุณสำหรับการเป็นผู้หญิงที่สดใส แข็งแกร่ง และสร้างแรงบันดาลใจได้อย่างเหลือเชื่อ

Message from Julia Morley – Chairman of Miss World Limited

     2018 will celebrate the 68th Miss World Final to be held in China in December.

     For our Beauty with a Purpose each contestant a project chosen by them to present to our panel of judges. During Miss World 2017, we witnessed amazing projects such as South Africa promoting Mental Health Awareness Campaigns; Vietnam organising electricity from solar panels for rural mountainous villages and India working on an education programme for menstrual Hygiene.

     Since winning Miss World 2017, Manushi Chhillar, with the assistance of our 5 continental winners, has continued advancing her Beauty with a Purpose project. We all travelled across India in February 2018 to support Manushi in the education programme and gain support from companies and Government.

     Being Miss World is one of the most demanding jobs, but it is also one of the most rewarding. Visiting every continent in the world, her role as an ambassador for Beauty with a Purpose is to raise money and focus attention on issues and problems that affect women and children. The winner will require the ability to translate all that she sees into words that can inspire others. She will need stamina as her program requires great dedication and perseverance. She will need a sense of humour in the most difficult times as she tries to bring hope to those in need.

    I would like to thank Brian Macar and his team at BEC-Tero Entertainment Public Company Limited, for their hard work and dedication, sending such great representatives to Miss World.

     Tonight there will only be one Miss Thailand crowned, but to all the contestants taking part, you are all winners. To have come this far you have achieved so much, I thank you for sharing this journey with us and being such incredible young, strong, inspirational women.
